Hi !

 

I am Andrew McFarlane , I was taught at primary school music on recorder first , then when I reached P4 was given a hearing test and was deemed good enough to be moved onto Violin , to my parents horror . 

Screeching stopped when I hit "big" school. First year ...  where everyone was a violinist.

The Head of Music Department at that time was Fr.McMullan and he asked me would I be willing to try Violincello.I agreed.I undertook learning the instrument from Mrs Stewart , who played at that time for the Ulster Orchestra. I achieved my Grade 4 Practical 1991 and Grade 5 Theory in 1991 , however due to ill health was unable to complete my testing to Grade 8.I also took private Piano lessons after school.I was an active member of the school orchestra and choir. I played solo pieces from memory on 'cello for the annual music department performance.All as extra curricular activities. 

Thus started the passion for music and playing to an audience. 

However...

I am a trained scientist , I studied sciences , not arts at school.

Biology , Chemistry & Physics , and of course Computer Science.( I had BASIC programming lessons at 7)

Career guidance told the folks that science opens more doors for employment...Music didn't pay and wasn't an option. I still loved making music and spent any free time I had in the music department.

In the years after secondary/high/grammar school I self taught myself guitar and bass guitar.

I have been writing my own Instrumentals with keyboards , guitars and drum machines using a Digital Audio Workstation.Cubase is my go to D.A.W, but have used Fruity Loops and Cakewalk in the past. Atari ST & Cubase :) was where it all started tho.Todays Kit List is here.

The fruition of this work has culminated in several albums R.

I offer many types of music for your listening pleasure, all without vocals or samples.I produce instrumentals only, I have no time , nor want , to tell the world my woes , worries , or wonders. Maybe my words are already in the music... I hope you enjoy my work , Most of the material is EDM , for Rock , check out Footprints , The Demons Inside & Destination Zero. Pictures of Marian and Moult are more chilled out albums from my youth. I have just realised "Let it Out" and "Let Go".

I have in the later years of living developed otosclerosis in both ears 👂essentially I am deaf in my left ear and  I am slightly hard of hearing in my right ear as I have had a successful Stapedectomy in that ear
